Ralston Avenue, Crookston, Glasgow | Bespoke Dwelling
The general design principle for Ralston Avenue was to create a house that carries an overall traditional form, recognisable within the wider streetscape, but in a more modern style through use of careful details, use of glazing and material choices.
As such, the ground floor and garage will be finished in a blonde sandstone, with a smooth render above and larger window proportions in black frames to bring in the modern elements. Feature vertical timber cladding will separate the two front gables too. The garage will appear detached thanks to the frameless structural glass link connecting the garage to the ground floor hallway. As the property turns to the sides and rear, the proposals become more modern in styling, with a buff multi-tonal clay brick, similar in tone to the sandstone, will become the predominant material, with large floor to ceiling sliding glazing, feature vertical timber and smooth render finish. A wraparound canopy flows from the west to the north side of the building, providing cover to the external terrace area to allow the large sliding doors to be opened to the inside creating a real connection to the large gardens.
We work closely with the client and renowned interior design house, Louise Bramhill Interiors, to create a truly stunning finish both internally and externally.
