This project involves the redesign and refurbishment of an entire traditional sandstone villa in this Glasgow suburb.

Internally, the layout was entirely reconfigured including relocating the existing staircase to open up the floor plan, allowing for a more free-flowing and modern internal layout whilst retaining the period proportions and styling within the property. A new large, modern, extension to the rear creates the backdrop for an open-plan kitchen, living and dining area, along with utility and pantry spaces, with a large wrap-around terrace to the rear to provide an outdoor-indoor living experience. Lots of large glazed elements have been introduced along the rear to take advantage of the garden views. On the first floor, the layout has been reconfigured to create a principal bedroom suite complete with dressing room and en-suite, as well as a self-contained guest suite.

Externally, the new extension has been designed to use a buff multi-tonal textured brick as a nod to the tones of the existing blonde sandstone, but doing so in a more modern approach. The feature zinc clad canopy of the terrace wraps around the building providing shade and weather protection.
