With an existing rear extension in a state of disrepair and a dark and dated kitchen to the rear, Ninety One Architects were appointed to transform the space by upgrading and modernising the rear extension and redesigning the layout to open up the kitchen, extending this into the rear extension to create a more usable and flexible space. By introducing rooflights and sliding doors to the rear, the space is now better connected to the outdoors and is flooded with natural light.  The internal alterations now increase the amount of usable floor area by removing the existing rear wall that formerly separated the spaces too. Using light and modern materials helps to bounce the light around the space and creates a warm and relaxing space. 

This project is a perfect example of where a few simple moves and alterations can completely transform a home, unlocking existing potential.
