The existing property was a traditional semi-detached house in Bearsden and the current owners were looking to modernise and open up the space to cater for their growing family. As such, we were tasked with creating a small, but modern, rear extension that allowed the existing dark and cramped kitchen to become an open-plan kitchen and dining space flooded with natural light, maintaining access out on to the landscaped gardens. A small and simple extension can completely transform a property.

The internal finish was designed to create a clean modern finish to allow the clients to grow in their home. We added roof lights to let light in from above and create a light and airy space. Externally, we used a simple material palette consisting of block and render, composite timber cladding and grey windows, doors and soffit to create a cohesive look.
